From historic Fort
Foote Park to the United
States Naval Academy, South Maryland offers numerous attractions. Within
this region is Maryland's
state capital of Annapolis,
featuring a variety of attractions and activities, including local seafaring
history at the Annapolis
Maritime Museum. Local towns like Annapolis and Chesapeake
Beach also offer fishing excursions, allowing visitors to get out and test
their skill with a fishing rod. The Chesapeake
Bay, the largest estuary in the United
States, keeps the area stocked with crab, something that seafood lovers
enjoy while in South Maryland. South Maryland also provides easy access to the

DC. Visitors in the area from April to September can also make a trip to
the Prince
George Stadium in Bowie
to see the Bowie
Baysox, the local minor league baseball team. Known for it's cultural activities,
Bethesda welcomes
visitors for annual events such as the Bethesda
